‘My brain is bleeding’ is an acrylic on canvas painting I’ve been completing since early 2018. This painting was initially a half finished Christmas present for my sister that was sitting in my storage space for years. One night I couldn’t stop looking at it, and in my sad, chaotic & creative mood I set about painting over the half finished plant painting in different shades of green and pink. I have never really created any other work in this abstract-melted style, but doing it little by little over the past several years has felt really calming and I like the way you can see hints of the painting it was years ago. To me, this painting is a dedication to my younger self, a devotion to creating art for yourself, without media or life as an inspiration. Simply my brain bleeding onto the canvas.
