She Moves Through The House

She Moves Through The House is a feminist meditation video artwork, focusing on daily menial tasks within the home. This piece stars the house and myself, and the rituals of cleaning, cooking & dwelling in a domestic space. Reflected in this piece are the mundane tasks previously culturally relegated to being “women’s work”. But within, there is a transformation of this work into rituals of quietness and care. The body is the home, and the work completed are cyclical acts of consideration, care and change.

This piece is a still life of home! I hope you enjoy my exploration of the body, and house known as Peach House!

This piece was exhibited in the Cacophony exhibition at RMIT.

When exhibiting the piece, it was projected within the the same dollhouse used within the video. The set up was completed by gutting the inside of the house and using a small throw projector.
